The process of creating Debra's new headshots was straightforward and easy. We began with a phone call to discuss the purpose of the images, the emotions she wanted to convey, and the most suitable clothing to align with her brand image. Debra specifically needed three distinct images: one facing forward, one slightly to the right, and another slightly to the left.
With over 42 years of experience in marketing and selling luxury waterfront homes in Martin County, she had a clear vision of the headshots she needed for her real estate website, print advertising, and online professional directories.

When she came to my studio for the photography, our pre-planned strategy (from our phone call) made the session itself effortless. We had already discussed clothing, background, and what we wanted to convey—so the session took literally 20 minutes, which meant she could quickly get back to what she does best: selling real estate on the Treasure Coast.

During the session, I introduced Debra to one of my favorite techniques that may seem unconventional—but consistently delivers fantastic results for professional portraits and personal branding headshots.
I encourage my clients to laugh.
It’s not the laugh itself that I’m aiming to capture—it’s the expression that follows. That moment of sparkle in the eyes. The natural, relaxed smile. The personality that shines through.
Debra’s photos were a perfect example of how a little laughter can elevate a headshot from stiff to stunning. When it came time to choose her favorites, she found herself facing an unexpected challenge:
“You made it very hard to choose,” she said. “Because they were really good photos! And I have never said that before about photos of myself.”

A Treasure Coast Real Estate Icon with Deep Community Roots
I’ve known Debra since my early days as a Treasure Coast photographer in 1992. She was one of my very first commercial clients, trusting me to photograph an oceanfront home on Hutchinson Island. Her kindness and patience gave me confidence when I needed it most.
Recently, we reconnected at a Leadership Martin County event hosted by the Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce, which we both highly recommend. Debra graduated from class 7 and I was in class 8. It’s a remarkable year-long experience for personal growth and civic leadership.
