A Fun Sisters Photo Shoot in Stuart, Florida

Capturing Childhood Milestones on the Treasure Coast

By Diane Dultmeier | Stuart, Florida Family Photographer

Fall is the time of year when many Treasure Coast families start thinking about updating their family portraits. The weather in Stuart, Florida is absolutely beautiful, and it’s the perfect season to create something meaningful—not just for holiday cards and gifts, but for your own home as well. A professional portrait is more than a photo. It’s a pause, a record of who your family is right now.

You think you’ll remember the little things: the way they giggle, the gap in their teeth, the way one sister always reaches for the other’s hand. But the truth is, memory fades. Portraits are how we hold on.

When I look at photos of my own children, I’m instantly transported. I remember how life felt when they were younger, when they still needed me in that daily way. I feel the warmth of those years—and I’m reminded to be present today. Because this moment, too, is slipping by.

Sisters, Stuart, and Sweet Memories

Just today, I had the joy of photographing two sisters, Marly and Jenna. Their session was full of laughter, inside jokes, and that unmistakable sisterly bond. I’ve been photographing them since Jenna was a baby and Marley wasn’t even here yet—and now, they’re both blossoming into confident, fun, and expressive people.

Every session with them brings something new, and their mom has made it a priority to schedule portraits every couple of years. She’s created a priceless visual story of their childhood, stage by stage, right here in Stuart, Florida.

“Every photo session is not only enjoyable, but also a growing experience,” their mom shared.

“It isn't just me who looks forward to them, but also our girls do...and could I ask for a better childhood memory?”

These images will serve as reminders of not only how they looked, but how they were—the connection between them, their personalities, the joy in their relationship.

Why This Season Is Ideal for Portraits on the Treasure Coast

Whether you're in Stuart, Palm City, Sewall’s Point, Vero Beach, or Fort Pierce, Fall is a fantastic time to schedule a family portrait session. Here’s why:

  • Perfect Weather: Cooler, drier days mean better light and comfortable outdoor sessions.

  • Holiday Timing: Schedule in September or October and you’ll have your portraits ready for Christmas cards, framed gifts, and heirloom artwork for your home.

  • Memory-Making: Kids grow up fast. Documenting your family every couple of years helps you preserve who they are right now—before the next milestone arrives.

If you’ve been thinking about portraits with your kids—whether they’re babies, teens, or somewhere in between—this is the moment. Let’s create something you’ll treasure now, and that your children will look back on with love later.
