These days many family photographers do the "fun" part but don't finish the process. It takes a lot of time and expertise to create finished portraits. And many years of trial and error developing techniques and finding the highest-quality products. Many photographers can take photos and provide digital files, but that does not mean it will print well as a large portrait.
