Our hearts go out to Oklahoma …

Our hearts go out to those affected by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. We can hardly imagine what it must be like to lose everything, especially for those who have lost children and those who still don’t know where their children and loved ones are.

If you are like me, the tornado in Oklahoma has pulled on your heart strings. This tragedy comes close to home, as my husband is from that area and his family lives in Oklahoma City (but are safe). His brother is one of the firefighters helping in the aftermath. What a tragedy that so many parents sent their kids off to school in the morning, never thinking that was the last time they would see them alive. What a nightmare to be one of the parents whose kids did not make it out! There were so many heroic teachers and so many families whose homes have been destroyed. I can’t even imagine how they are feeling. I have only a tiny inkling of how it could possibly feel, looking back on the hurricanes we experienced eight years ago. That was hugely frightening and we did think there was a possibility that our area would be devastated and economy ruined. But, I never really feared for the safety of our family or friends. We had so much warning and were able to take lots of precautions and get to safe locations.
A tragedy like the Oklahoma tornados comes without warning and it is a lesson to us to cherish each other, love each other and forgive each other. It is also a time when we can count our blessings and use our blessings to help with the tragedy.

Please join me in helping the Oklahoma tornado victims.
